New year's Eve 2026 on the Las Vegas Strip

Where to Watch Fireworks on the Las Vegas Strip?

Las Vegas hosts one of the country's largest New Year's Eve celebrations, second only to the ball drop in Times Square in New York City. More than 400,000 people are expected to ring in 2026 on the Las Vegas Strip, which will be closed to traffic between Russell Road and Sahara Avenue starting at 6 p.m. The Las Vegas Boulevard will be transformed into a massive street party, the largest in the world, offering some of the most spectacular fireworks displays in the country. The Las Vegas New Year's Eve 2026 fireworks are once again scheduled to be launched from the rooftops of several hotels at midnight. There will be choreographed music set to popular hits while the fireworks are launched from the rooftops of the following hotels:

  • ARIA Resort & Casino

  • Caesars Palace

  • MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

  • Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino

  • Resorts World Las Vegas

  • The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod

  • Treasure Island Las Vegas

  • The Venetian Resort Las Vegas

  • The Fontainebleau

Las Vegas Strip Fireworks

The Las Vegas Strip Fireworks will last approximately 8 minutes and feature several thousand fireworks explosions, choreographed for an exhilarating musical and visual performance. For the first time this year, the show will be enhanced by a drone display. The Rio Hotel will host the command center.

Where to Watch Fireworks in Dowtown Las Vegas?

Those wishing to avoid the Strip might feel more at home downtown, where the Fremont Street Experience will offer live music on multiple stages, drink promotions, and a midnight countdown on the world's largest LED screen. While less crowded than the Strip, downtown will still be bustling with activity. As it does every year, on New Year's Eve 2026 in Las Vegas, the Plaza Hotel & Casino will present its pyrotechnic show with a countdown to the midnight fireworks. The fireworks will then be launched from the hotel's rooftops. A dazzling display is sure to be in store. The Fremont Street Experience's digital screen will also be animated for the occasion. The best viewing spots include Main Street (which will be closed to vehicular traffic), in front of the Plaza's Carousel Bar, and at Oscar's, under the glass dome.

New Year's Eve 2026 in Las Vegas - Tips

Budget

New Year's Eve is the most popular night of the year to visit Las Vegas. Hotels can cost triple or even quadruple their usual rates. Nightclub admissions will likely require a table reservation, with no standing room available. Rates start at $500 for a typical night, so expect prices to skyrocket on New Year's Eve, although some drinks and a champagne toast may be included. Even taxi, Uber, and Lyft rides increase significantly over their usual prices.

Booking

Book as early as possible as all hotels, restaurants and shows will be sold out very quickly.

Age restrictions.

While Las Vegas offers fun for the whole family, New Year’s Eve is not the time to come if you’re not of legal drinking or gambling age. Those under 21 are not allowed in gambling areas or nightclub lounges. Anyone under 18 is not allowed on the Strip without a parent or legal guardian after 6 p.m. You must be 21 to be a part of Fremont Street’s Downtown Countdown.

Dressing Tips.

Dress appropriately. In winter, the desert is cold and windy at night. Short-sleeved shirts and backless dresses may seem like a good idea, but you'll regret it later.

Choose shoes you can wear for hours and don't forget thick socks.

Also, be sure to check the dress code of the establishments you visit.

Prohibited Items on the Strip.

Revelers on the Strip are not allowed to bring strollers, carts, luggage, coolers or backpacks, purses and any other type of bag larger than 12x6x12 inches. Drinking is allowed, but glass or metal containers are not. Even though recreational cannabis is legal in Nevada, public consumption is not. Conceal and carry laws are complicated. Casinos often request that firearms aren't brought on the property. Just leave them at home.

Traffic, road closures

The I-15 exit ramps at Flamingo will be closed at 5:30 p.m. in both directions.

Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed from Spring Mountain Road to TropicanaAvenue, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Strip will be completely closed to all vehicle traffic from 8 p.m.
