It's never easy to drive in a city you don't know. This is why many people choose not to rent a car when they come to Las Vegas. Rest assured, there is convenient public transportation to get you to all the points of interest on the Strip and Fremont/Downtown without having to walk too much. So you can enjoy all the things to do in Las Vegas. Is it worth renting a car? If you want to discover the treasures that Las Vegas has to offer, this can make your vacation even more unforgettable. But if you just want to enjoy the Strip, this isn't necessarily necessary.

Las Vegas Transportation: The Deuce Bus
If you don't have a rental car, or if you prefer not to use one during your stay, one of the best ways to get around is to take the Deuce bus on the Las Vegas Strip. The Deuce bus in Las Vegas is convenient because it can take you to many of the most popular destinations in Las Vegas (South Premium Outlets, car rental centers, Town Square, the Strip, The Strat, The Sphere, Fremont Street Experience, Arts District, etc.). It operates 24/7, serves 28 stops, and runs every 10 to 20 minutes depending on the time of day. All this at an affordable price.

Las Vegas Transportation: The Monorail
The Las Vegas Monorail is a 6.3-kilometer automated monorail system located alongside the Las Vegas Strip. It's an easy, safe, and fun way to experience the best sights the Strip has to offer, from the luxurious pools and spas of the resorts to the famous nightlife, clubs, and bars of Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Monorail begins at the SAHARA Las Vegas station and ends at the MGM Grand station. Trains run every 4 to 8 minutes.

Las Vegas Transportation: Free Trams
Mandalay Bay Tram
Located at the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip, the Mandalay Bay Tram connects the Mandalay Bay hotel to the Excalibur hotel, with a stop at the Luxor hotel. It runs every five minutes.
Arias Express Tram
The Aria Express Tram picks you up at the Park MGM, near the Aria entrance. It makes a stop at the Crystals shopping center near the Cosmopolitan before heading to the Bellagio, where it drops you off at the south tower. The tram runs every seven to ten minutes on this route, with a stop at the Vdara hotel on the return trip to Park MGM. It operates from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, except during special events, in which case it runs until 11:00 PM.
Treasure Island Tram
Quick and easy, this free tram runs non-stop between the Treasure Island Hotel and the Hard Rock Hotel every 8 minutes. It is currently closed due to construction at the Hard Rock Hotel.

The Las Vegas Downtown Loop is a free shuttle that serves major attractions in Downtown Las Vegas, such as Fremont, the Mob Museum, and the Arts District. It loops around Downtown Las Vegas during its operating hours.

The Vegas Loop is a project developed by Tesla's Boring Company that consists of a network of tunnels under Las Vegas, in which you can travel in Tesla vehicles, thus avoiding the city's traffic problems. This project is still under development. Only the section around the Convention Center is currently operational. There is also a partial surface connection with Las Vegas airport.

Las Vegas Transportation: Rental Cars
The car rental center at Harry Reid International Airport brings together ten rental agencies in one convenient location. This center is open 24/7, with continuous shuttle service to and from the airport terminals. While there are several independent rental agencies in Las Vegas and a few located in some hotels, the airport remains the most convenient option. Keep in mind that most parking lots charge a fee (approximately $20 per night). However, having a car will allow you to explore more of Las Vegas and the surrounding area.
Las Vegas Transportation: Taxis
Taxis are a reliable form of transportation used throughout Vegas for decades. With several companies to choose from, you never have to worry about there not being enough drivers at a late hour. Unlike other cities, you cannot hail a taxi on the street in Las Vegas. Taxis are required to pick up passengers at a physical address, such as a hotel taxi line. Hotels have specific areas for taxi pick-up, usually near the valet or main entrance.

Like more and more major American cities, Las Vegas has also introduced its own driverless taxi service. It's called Zoox. Zoox is a robotaxi with a futuristic, cube-shaped design. To use it, you need to download an app on your phone. It primarily serves the Strip but also Area 15.

Ridesharing, commonly associated with Uber and Lyft, is a convenient way to get around Las Vegas, no matter where you are. Of course, you'll need an active mobile phone with service in the United States and a credit or debit card to enter into the app.
