What is Pass America The Beautiful?

The "America the Beautiful" pass is an annual pass that grants unlimited access to national parks and national conservation areas for one year from the date of purchase. However, it does not provide access to state parks.

When is it worth buying the Pass?

If you are a U.S. resident, it is worth buying the Pass if you plan to visit more than two parks.


If you are not a U.S. resident, it is worth buying the Pass if there are more than two people in your vehicle or if you plan to visit more than one park.

How much does the America the Beautiful Pass cost?

Rates:

  • U.S. citizens and residents: $80

  • Non-U.S. residents: $250

  • U.S. citizens and residents 62+: $20

  • U.S. military/veterans: Free

  • U.S. residents with disabilities: Free

Where can I buy the America the Beautiful Pass?

In person

You can purchase the pass directly at the entrance to the first park you visit.

Order online and receive by mail

To receive your pass by mail, order online at the USGS Online Store. Online orders are for physical passes, not digital passes, and may take up to three weeks to be processed and delivered. Order receipts may not be used in place of a physical pass. We recommend ordering at least three weeks in advance of your visit, or picking up a pass in person instead.

Digital Pass

You can also purchase a digital "America the Beautiful" pass on recreation.gov. Your digital pass can be saved to a mobile device and used immediately.

Is the America the Beautiful Pass refundable?

No. "America the Beautiful" passes are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.

Can I lend or sell my America the Beautiful Pass?

No. "America the Beautiful" passes cannot be lent or sold. Upon purchase, you must write your name and sign the back. Holders must present a valid photo ID along with the pass.

How many people can accompany me?

The "America the Beautiful" pass is valid for:

  • One private vehicle and its passengers

  • Or 4 pedestrians (you and 3 people)

Which parks can I access around Las Vegas?

Here are examples of parks near Las Vegas that you can access with the America the Beautiful Pass:

  • Red Rock Canyon (about 30 minutes from the Strip)

  • Lake Mead (about 40 minutes from the Strip)

  • Willow Beach (about 1 hour from the Strip)

  • Zion (about 2 hours 40 minutes from the Strip)

  • Death Valley (about 2 hours 40 minutes from the Strip)

  • Bryce Canyon (about 4 hours 30 minutes from the Strip)​

  • Joshua Tree (about 4 hours from the Strip)

  • Grand Canyon South Rim (about 4 hours 30 minutes from the Strip)

Note:

The "America the Beautiful" annual pass does not provide access to Valley of Fire, Grand Canyon West, Horseshoe Bend, or Monument Valley.
