Pharmacies, Healthcare and Health Insurance For Las Vegas

Visiting Las Vegas and the United States can be an exciting experience. One that you can prepare for months. But what happens in the event of illness or injury? Those months of planning can quickly go up in smoke, especially if you haven't thought about health insurance.

Pharmacies

In the United States, most pharmaceutical products are easily found in most large supermarkets such as Walmart or Costco, and in chains such as CVC and Walgreens. Non-prescription drugs will be available over the counter in designated sections. For prescription drugs, you will need to go to a counter where someone will take care of you. You will either need to provide a prescription from a licensed physician, or the doctor you consulted will send the prescription directly to the pharmacy of your choice. If there are non-prescription drugs that you are used to in your country, consider looking up the equivalent in the United States so you can find it more easily.

Where to see a doctor on the Strip?

It can quickly become overwhelming for someone not knowing what to do or who to consult in the event of illness. The first thing to do in the United States is to call 911 if you have symptoms that suggest a medical emergency. Also, remember that your hotel's concierge service can direct you. Below is a list of some places where you can consult a professional in the event of minor symptoms. Again, if in doubt, call 911 and they will take care of you.
